Triple H actually made many changes during her early tenure as WWE’s Chief Design Officer, and there were also some changes to NXT’s long-term strategy. One of the biggest developments is NXT Europe, which launches next year and looks to pave the way for some big things ahead. In a new interview with sports bibleTriple H revealed some of those future plans for NXT Europe and beyond, including a World Cup scenario that will include other NXT programs created around the world such as South Africa, Australia, Mexico, and more.
“Over the last 10 years or so, we’ve created these recruiting efforts and started a brand called NXT, NXT for us is that academy model, so if RAW and SmackDown are NFL football, NXT is collegiate sports. A little brand here called NXT UK, we were going that way before the pandemic, which stopped it, but we dropped that brand, because in 2023 we’re going to relaunch it as NXT Europe and try to blow it up,” Triple H said.
“The goal is going to be to take NXT Europe and bring that around the world, so NXT Europe, NXT Australia, NXT South Africa, South America, Mexico, and ultimately building that into a global system that will almost certainly lead to a World Cup scenario. It’s going to be the NXT World Cup Finals. In London for a year, next year maybe in Mexico City, and the year after that and all the time, what you’re really doing is building this, you’re building a college football fan base, while you’re building stars for the big leagues which is RAW and SmackDown and WrestleMania right, Triple H said.
Then Triple H talked about some of the strides they have already taken in other countries like India. “In India right now, we are the second largest sport in India outside of cricket, which is a religious thing. It is really huge but imagine that scale when we have a brand on the ground of indigenous Indians who have their own brand. Let’s say one branch out, and go To RAW or go to SmackDown, WrestleMania titles, it’s a game-changer,” Triple H.
